Employee of the Week - Shawn Fraser

The Transportation Department is pleased to recognize Mr. Shawn Fraser as its employee of the week. Shawn, who is in his fifteenth year with the department, began honing his mechanical abilities long before the start of his tenure with the division, however. He possessed twenty-five years of experience as a mechanic when he joined the Transportation Department’s staff, and the expertise that he has brought to the team has made him an invaluable asset. In addition to his mechanical prowess, his cheerful and outgoing personality coupled with his quick sense of humor make him well-liked by his fellow mechanics and drivers throughout the county. In reflecting upon his favorite aspects of the job, he quickly smiled and said, “I’d have to say that I most enjoy the people with which I work.”
When not working on buses or the many other vehicles in the school system's fleet, Shawn enjoys riding his motorcycle, hunting, and fishing, interests that he shares with his wife, Karen. He is also the father of three adult children, and the proud “Papa” of eight grandchildren.
The Transportation Department extends its sincere thanks to Shawn for his efforts in maintaining the school division’s fleet and ensuring the safety of those it serves. The division and the department are fortunate to have him among their ranks.
