Employee of the Week - Michele Cassidy

Southside Elementary School is honored to present one of our newest members of the Tiger family as the PCS Employee of the Week. Michele Cassidy is a second grade teacher this year at Southside Elementary. Her smile, positive attitude, and teaching expertise make her an amazing addition to the SSE school community. We look forward to working with her and watching her students soar!
Mrs. Cassidy was born and raised in Danville, VA. She is a graduate of George Washington High School and Averett College (now University). She has 27 years of teaching experience in grades K - 2. Mrs. Cassidy also worked as a new teacher mentor for over 10 years and has served on many committees, including the School Improvement Team and Hospitality. Mrs. Cassidy reports that she has been welcomed with open arms and smiling faces to the amazing Southside Elementary staff this year.
When Mrs. Cassidy is not teaching, she spends her time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoys traveling and outdoor activities such as camping, kayaking and swimming. Her son is a music enthusiast, and she can be found anywhere the GW bands are performing in her role as president of the Band Booster organization.
