Employee of the Week - Linda Swanson Yeatts

Tunstall High School (THS) recognizes Mrs. Linda Swanson Yeatts as its Employee of the Week. Ms. Yeatts has served Pittsylvania County Schools in different capacities since 1977, most recently as media specialist at Tunstall High School where she is celebrating her 15th year of collaborating with staff and students for reading, research, and creative technology projects. She delights in creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere complete with rocking chair, virtual fireplace, leisure reading and aromatherapy. And she has been known to add a little spice to her classes with a wild wig or two.
Mrs. Yeatts enjoys reading (of course!), taking long walks, DIY home and yard projects, and writing poetry. She is inspired by her faith, her family, and her friends of whom she holds her Trojan colleagues and students dear. Her 2021 cancer diagnosis and ensuing treatment provided a spotlight on the power of community to bring meaning to crisis and joy to the journey. Yeatts says, "No better people anywhere for traveling this road. I am deeply grateful to them all."
She makes her home in the Swansonville community with her husband, Keith, and Barney, the Boisterous Beagle.
