Employee of the Week - Rachel Bowler
November 28 - December 2, 2022
Rachel Bowler has worked for Pittsylvania County Schools in some capacity since 2006. In the past 16 years, she has worked at Gretna Elementary, Mt. Airy Elementary, Chatham Elementary, Gretna Middle, and Gretna High. She started as a one-on-one aide, then became an instructional aide, a guidance clerk, and now, a teacher. She received her BA from Mary Baldwin University, and is currently pursuing her MEd in Pre K-12 Administration and Supervision at University of Lynchburg.
Mrs. Bowler is married to Andrew Bowler, who is an English teacher at GHS. She has three sons: Seiya, Sena, and Lyukai Nomura, who are all graduates of GHS (and graduates of University of Lynchburg and soon-to-be Virginia Tech). They are a Hawk and Hokie family! In her spare time, she enjoys photography, going to concerts, cooking, and trying new restaurants. She considers herself most fortunate to have started her teaching career at RAS, citing Ms. Powell for being a wonderful teacher, mentor, and leader.
