Henry Crenshaw of IT
Transitioning from boots on the ground to booting a computer has been a smooth one for IT Network Support Technician Henry H. Crenshaw, III. Join us as we celebrate our newest member of the Information Technology Department who is also a retired U.S. Army veteran.

While there are many ways to serve our nation, it’s the infantry that is its backbone.

Being an infantryman is not for the faint of heart. An infantryman is responsible for defending our Country from threats by land, and he’s responsible for capturing, destroying, and repelling enemy ground forces. An infantryman is able to accept challenges, perform well under stress, stay in shape physically and mentally, and to serve as a team member.

These patriots put their lives on the line to protect ours.

For 21 years, risking his life was just a day at the office for Henry, although he will rarely mention it. His quiet demeanor downplays any type of praise or attention.

He is just as committed to his IT work, now, as he was to the military, then.

His work duties may have changed but not so his passion. He says, “When I was in the Army I wanted to make a difference in the world, even if no one knows about it. Now my world is a little smaller but just as important…the Pittsylvania County School System.”

Henry’s military service provided a GI Bill allowing him to earn his IT degree. We are fortunate that he chose Pittsylvania County Schools as his next place to serve.

After graduating, the Danville native settled in Halifax County where he shares a “micro-farm” of eight chickens, one rabbit and a garden with his wife, Jennifer, son, Austin, and daughter, Savannah. They are all active members of the First Pentecostal Church of Roxboro.

Thank you for your service, Henry Crenshaw. Thank you for both careers. We are grateful that because of you, not only does our flag still wave, but also that Pittsylvania County Schools continues to thrive as a great place to learn and work.
