Roberta Johnson

Stony Mill Elementary School is pleased to announce that Mrs. Roberta Johnson has been chosen as the “Employee of the Week.” Mrs. Johnson has been a part of the Stony Mill family for eighteen years. Mrs. Johnson was first hired as a Teacher’s Aide to work in the cross-categorical special education classroom. A few years later, she began working in special education inclusion classes. She has worked alongside many SME teachers and students over the years. Mrs. Johnson eventually transferred to the school office where she became known as the “ice cream teacher” to students. Mrs. Johnson does handle ice cream orders, but she is responsible for much more. Mrs. Johnson answers the phone and front door. She assists parents with check-ins/check-outs and other student matters. Mrs. Johnson serves Stony Mill in numerous other ways and is willing to assist with any job when asked. She is a dedicated, dependable employee, and often volunteers her time to help with after school events and fundraisers. Mrs. Johnson thoroughly enjoys being able to interact with students each day. She says that she loves working at Stony Mill and feels like she is part of a special family.

Mrs. Johnson is a member of Hope Church where she has served in a variety of ways over the years. She currently serves on the hospitality team which provides assistance to families, visiting pastors, service groups, and widows/widowers.

Mrs. Johnson is married to Jimmy Johnson. They have two children and two grandchildren. Mrs. Johnson likes
to spend her free time with her family and especially her grandchildren.

Congratulations to Mrs. Johnson on her much deserved selection as Pittsylvania County Schools’ Employee of the Week.
