Employee of the Week: Travis Wood

Pittsylvania Career and Technical Center is pleased to announce Mr. Travis Wood as Employee of the Week. Mr. Wood currently serves as the Welding instructor for PCTC and has been at PCTC for four years. Mr. Wood is a 1998 graduate from Gretna High School and PCTC Welding program. Also, Mr. Wood is a SkillsUSA State winner in CPR/First Aid. In addition to PCTC, Mr. Wood has been a maintenance welder/mechanic for 23 years.
Mr. Wood is dedicated to this program as he continues educational training to keep students up to date with industry and state-of-the-art equipment. He is always willing to offer a helping hand to any one in need.
Along with his commitment to Pittsylvania County Schools, Mr. Wood is a Firefighter with Chatham Volunteer Fire Department and a Volunteer Firefighter/EMT since 1996. In addition, Mr. Wood is a Virginia Fire Programs’ instructor since 2009.
Mr. Wood lives in Chatham, Virginia, with his son, Tyler (8).
