The Pittsylvania Career and Technical Center (PCTC) EMT program recently received a generous donation from the Chatham Rescue Squad, further strengthening hands-on learning opportunities for students preparing for careers in emergency medical services.
The Chatham Rescue Squad donated a stretcher to the program, providing students with access to essential equipment used in real-world emergency response situations. This addition will allow students to participate in more realistic training exercises while developing critical patient-handling and transport skills in a safe educational environment.
Hands-on experience is a vital part of EMT training, and the donated stretcher will help students build confidence and practical knowledge as they prepare for future careers in the medical field. By working with industry-standard equipment, students gain valuable experience that supports classroom instruction and prepares them for professional certification and employment opportunities.
Pittsylvania County Schools and the PCTC EMT program extend sincere appreciation to the Chatham Rescue Squad for its continued support of career and technical education. Partnerships such as this help create meaningful learning experiences for students while strengthening connections between schools and the local community.
The donation reflects a shared commitment to preparing the next generation of emergency medical professionals and ensuring students have the tools needed to succeed in high-demand careers.
