Free Summer Meals for Students

2025 Summer Meal Media Release
This summer, children can enjoy breakfast and lunch free of charge in Pittsylvania County through the Summer Food Service Program, a federally funded nutrition program. Meals will be offered through a combination of on-site meals and grab and go meals and will be available to any child in the community 18 years of age and younger.
On-site meals will be offered in conjunction with the division’s summer school academic programs. Grab and go meals will be offered when on-site meal service is not available. Three days’ worth of packaged meals that can be taken home for children to eat later will be distributed curbside on a first come, first serve basis, at the following sites and times.
