The GED test is given three times a year to ISAEP students.
Pass the practice test
A battery of tests will be given to the student to judge if he or she is ready to attempt the GED. Each test must have a score of 470 before permission will be granted by the Instructor AND Coordinator.
Pictured ID
Pictured ID issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia must be brought to the classroom to be copied by the Instructor. This also needs to be brought to the test before the student will be allowed in to take the test.
Social Security Card
The actual Social Security card must be brought to the classroom to be copied by the Instructor. This also needs to be brought to the test before the student will be allowed in to take the test.
Money Order
The GED testing center charges the following for students to take the test.
The money order must be brought to the ISAEP classroom blank for the Instructor will inform the student how to fill out the money order. A copy of the money order can be given for the student’s records; if the student requests a copy.
Parents’ or Guardian’s Signature
A release form can be signed by the parents or guardian to have the results faxed to the Instructor as soon as the tests are completed the grading process. This usually takes three to four weeks. Otherwise, the GED testing center will mail the results to the address submitted on the application, which usually take five to six weeks. The student must continue to attend class while waiting for the results.
Application
A comprehensive 14-page application will be filled out by the student along with the Instructor. This usually takes one hour, but that depends on the availability of the Instructor’s attention and the noise level in the classroom.
