2023-2024 Proposed Calendar
The 2023-2024 Calendar Committee has developed a proposed calendar for review. Staff, parents and the community are welcome to view the proposed calendar and submit comments from September 29, 2022 through October 5, 2022, at Noon.
The most important aspect in creating the proposed 2023-2024 school calendar is the instruction of students. Other aspects included meeting the two 90 day semesters for a 180 day school calendar, the 200 day teacher contract, the SOL program (including testing windows), teacher professional days and workdays, and coordination with other programs such as Governor's School, AET, PCTC, Virtual Virginia AP classes, etc.
Due to VRS rulings and auditing requirements, the first day of any 10-month employee contract cannot begin on the 1st working day of the month of August.
