Students Advance to Regionals Spelling Bee

Our Middle Schools hosted their spelling bees, with each school sending its winner and runner-up to the Regionals. Congratulations to these eight students for earning top spots and advancing to the Regional Spelling Bee.

Chatham Middle School
Layla Barrett (Champion) 8th grade
Penelope Barnitz (Runner-up) 6th grade

Dan River Middle School
MaryMae Demont (Champion) 7th grade
Nate Keen (Runner-up) 8th grade

Gretna Middle School
Josh Parker (Champion) 7th grade
Sadie Mays (Runner-up) 6th grade

Tunstall Middle School
Avery Graves (Champion) 6th grade
Michelle Alston (Runner-up) 8th grade

They will compete at Averett University on March 21st at 3 PM, each competing for a chance to advance to the National Spelling Bee.
