Pittsylvania Schools and Local First Responders Collaborate on Safety Preparedness

On Tuesday, July 15th, the Critical Response Group (CRG) conducted a tabletop exercise at Chatham Middle School. The event brought together administrators and division staff from Pittsylvania County Schools, Pittsylvania County Sheriff's Office, Pittsylvania County Emergency Services, and the Hurt Town Police Department. The purpose was to apply key principles aimed at strengthening preparedness and coordination in the event of a school safety incident.
The exercise featured a realistic scenario and facilitated an open dialogue on procedures, interagency collaboration, and communication between the school division and public safety partners.
