Renewal Application

• Online/Paper application process (TBD)
• Do not sign/date and submit the renewal application until after October 1st of the renewal year
• Principal/Supervisor must sign advisor section and initial/date all activities
• Please note – Pittsylvania County Schools pays the renewal fee for contracted employees
Professional Development Points

• 270 professional development points (5 point minimum for options 2, 3, 6, 7 and 8)
• Official transcripts required for all college courses
• PCS professional development activities may be combined for individual school years to meet 5 point minimum
• Non PCS professional development activities must be a minimum of 5 points, or a continuing series to collectively be 5 points or more
Statutory Requirements
• Child Abuse and Neglect (Child Abuse and Neglect)
• Dyslexia Awareness (Dyslexia Training)
• Cultural Competency (Cultural Competency Training)
• First Aid/CPR/AED –The course must include all three components – First Aid, CPR and AED including in person hands on CPR training.  Please note Basic Life Support (BLS) courses do not meet this requirement, unless the course includes First Aid. Please contact Shmanda Anderson ([email protected]) regarding PCS course availability if you are currently employed by PCS or online at the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
