V-23.jpg (36356 bytes) The Galax or Beetleweed (Galax urceolata) is found throughout Pittsylvania County. It forms large colonies on north-facing slopes in dry rocky woodlands. The numerous leaves are often picked by florists to decorate wreaths during the Christmas season. Some botany books classify this plant as (Galax aphylla).
