School Board Budget Meeting – February 2, 2017:
At a called School Board meeting on Thursday, February 2, 2017, a representative from Evergreen Solutions, LLC, presented findings from the compensation study.  The School Board approved this study last spring for a review of staff salaries for internal and external equity.  During the economic downturn experience over the last eight years, the Division’s salary schedules have been compressed.  This study has addressed the compression of the salary scales as well.  Staff may find The Compensation Study, Final Report for Pittsylvania County Schools at:  http://www.pcs.k12.va.us/hr/pcs-compensation-study.pdf.

School Board Appreciation Month:
Governor McAuliffe has proclaimed February 2017 as School Board Appreciation Month to help build awareness of the crucial role school board members plays in our communities and schools. Board members are extraordinary people who voluntarily tackle the enormous job of governing school divisions. Their actions and decisions affect the present and future lives of our children. Recognizing board members for this commitment and sacrifice takes a combined effort on the part of all they serve: administrators, school staff, students, and the community.  Please join in recognizing and thanking our School Board members for all that they do for Pittsylvania County Schools.

February is Black History Month:
In celebration of Black History Month, the Virginia Department of Education has provided teachers and school divisions with materials to use.  These materials may be found in the link to the VDOE memo as follows:
