Mrs. Janet Wood has been in the school
nutrition program 15 years with 12 of those years as cafeteria manager.
She is a graduate of Endicott College in Beverly, Massachusetts. Her
hobbies include raising Black Angus cows, playing golf and eating
healthy. She is president-elect of
the School Nutrition Association and president of Caswell Pines Lady Golf
Association. At the end of her work day she prepares a healthy afternoon
snack for the Title I and VPI preschool classes. The snack includes a
brief presentation or a story for the students.
Mrs. Wood, her husband, Johnny, Harvey (her
father-in law), and Casey, their chocolate Labrador, live on the Wood
family farm in the Swansonville Community.
Mrs. Wood’s focus on healthy choices and
customer service and satisfaction has made her a favorite with students,
staff, and parents. Her commitment and dedication to her job is evident as
she interacts with everyone who joins us for lunch or breakfast.
