Patricia Hamm of Southside Elementary

"The children are the best and most important part of my job. Being able to help children become better readers is the most rewarding job I have ever experienced. Their energy, sense of adventure, and expectations keep me motivated to find ways to bring out their best each and every day. Children are our future. We, as their teachers, have the opportunity to help shape that future and it is a privilege and an awesome responsibility. The administration, faculty, and staff at Southside Elementary School are dedicated to helping each child that walks it’s halls to not only become an outstanding student but a good citizen as well. It is an honor and joy to be a part of the Southside team.”—Mrs. Patricia Hamm

Southside Elementary School proudly announces that Patricia Hamm has received the honor of our Employee of the Week.  Mrs. Hamm was selected as Employee of the Week for her passion of teaching and her ability to make reading exciting and fun for her students.

Mrs. Patricia Hamm is one of our Success For All Reading Tutors and has worked at Southside for three years.  She exemplifies many of the qualities of a good tutor. She understands, solves, and increases the reading skills of her student learners in a warm and courteous manner.  “Mrs. Hamm listens and understands her students and is extremely patient and encouraging towards them,” says Mrs. Houck. “Patricia is an inspiration to all she works with. She is an example of courage and strength. She is a true example of a Christian,” says Mrs. Turpin.

Mrs. Hamm is a member at Mount Hermon Baptist Church and sings in the Adult Choir.  She has been married to a “wonderful” man, Clifford Hamm for 32 years.  She enjoys spending time with her family, reading, cooking, gardening, and singing.

Thank you, Mrs. Hamm, for all that you do in helping our students achieve their potential. Congratulations!
