Joanne Ignacki enjoys teaching
sixth grade at Tunstall Middle School. Every year is a new
adventure and every student is a joy and a challenge. She
received her undergraduate degree from Rowan University and her
graduate degree from Kean University. Her 30 years of work
have been spent with students from kindergarten to seventh
grade, but the majority of the time has been with sixth
graders. From holiday plays, to twirling, crafts, music, and
basic instruction, she has been involved in an exciting
assortment of experiences.
On a personal level, Joanne has been married to Steve for 25 years. Her husband has been self-employed for 30 years doing home remodeling and building. They are very proud of their two daughters and there will be cause to celebrate when they both graduate from Virginia Tech this year. Bonnie is majoring in Civil Engineering and Katie’s field is Nutrition. The family enjoys a wide variety of activities at home and traveling within the United States. Mrs. Ignacki feels very blessed to have the opportunity to work with so many talented and devoted coworkers at Tunstall Middle. She would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the teachers and administrators who have supported her through the years. She appreciates their friendship and all that they have done to enrich her classroom. Over the years, some of them have retired, but she holds dear her friends from Central Middle School and many years ago, Gretna Middle School. Joanne also loves hearing about her former students and feels a sense of pride when she learns of their accomplishments in life. |
