Dan River Middle School is most pleased to announce that Mr. Ronald Brooks has been selected as “Employee of the Week.” The administration, faculty and staff would like to wholeheartedly congratulate Mr. Brooks on this noteworthy honor. Mr. Brooks grew up in the Ringgold area and currently resides in Danville with his wonderful wife, Gaynell. They are the proud parents of three children, and doting grandparents of five grandchildren and one great grandchild. Mr. Brooks likes spoiling the grandchildren and returning them home to their parents. During his spare time, Mr. Brooks is actively involved as a member of the Support Group for the Ringgold Volunteer Fire Department, and is the Past Master of the Murdock Masonic Lodge, number 163. He also likes hunting, fishing, and is an avid fan of antique car shows. Mr. Brooks began as a substitute on the custodial staff at Dan River Middle around March, 2008 and was permanently assigned to the position a few months later in August. When asked what he enjoys most about his job, Mr. Brooks replied “I really enjoy pleasing the administrators, faculty and staff by doing the best job that I can.” Mr. Brooks is indeed a valuable asset to our staff. He does his job with such a pleasant attitude and is always willing to go that extra mile to ensure that our school is comfortable and clean. If faculty or staff members have minor repairs to be made or items are needed to ensure the safety or cleanliness of the school, we endeavor to tell Mr. Brooks because he will get the job done professionally and immediately. Mr. Brooks thinks of Dan River Middle as “My School” and he does an excellent job of taking care of his school. The Dan River Middle School family is extremely appreciative to have Mr. Brooks as a member of the family and again we say “Thank You” and offer sincere congratulations on being named Pittsylvania County School’s Employee of the Week! |
