Gloria Lanier of Chatham High School

"I am so grateful and thankful for the opportunity to exercise my dreams of providing support for students, staff, and families. My job is what I had envisioned for my future." -- Gloria Lanier

Chatham High School is honored to recognize Mrs. Gloria Lanier as our Employee of the Week.  Mrs. Lanier has been employed by Pittsylvania County Schools since 2002. She served as a teacher assistant for one year at Chatham High School, transferred to Tunstall High School in 2004, and then to Chatham High School in 2006 as a bookkeeper. Mrs. Lanier became the bookkeeper of Chatham High School in 2006, where she has served and assisted many students, parents, teachers, and staff members over the past three years to be successful in their endeavors.

“Mrs. Lanier is a vital component to the success and performance of Chatham High School, she has made my transition as the new Assistant Principal much easier as she has given me many hours of support, knowledge, and assistance,” said Angela Rigney, Assistant Principal.

In her spare time, she enjoys listening to gospel music, singing, and attending church. Mrs. Lanier is a very active member of her church. She serves as the assistant clerk, secretary of missionary auxiliary, vice president of the gospel choir, member of the kitchen committee, and correspondence secretary of the usher board.

Mrs. Lanier is married to Elliott Lanier and they have one son, Derrick and daughter-in law Rebecca, who live in Florida. They also have five grandsons, whom they cherish dearly.

It is both an honor and a privilege to present to PCS Mrs. Gloria Lanier as Chatham High School Employee of the Week. Thank you, Mrs. Lanier, for all that you do for the Chatham High School family.
