It’s an honor to teach second grade at Union Hall Elementary and be selected as the employee of the week. 

This is my 19th year of teaching.  I have taught 12 years at Union Hall.  I have been married for 18 years to Steve McDowell.  I have one son, Ryan, who is a 6th grader at Chatham Middle School.  In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and son at Smith Mountain Lake, reading, and shopping. 

I have always strived to create a positive learning environment in my classroom where everyone is given the opportunity to succeed.
