RICKEY W. PARKER 

Honored with the

2000 Technology 
Leadership Award

For Region VI

On Tuesday, December 12, 2000, Administrative Assistant for Information Technology, Rickey W. Parker was honored by the Virginia Department of Education with the 2000 Technology Leadership Award for Region VI.

This award cited the many accomplishments of Mr. Parker and  credited him with raising the technology standards and expectations of Pittsylvania County Schools. 

Mr. Parker has been employed by PCS since 1971.  He began his career as a classroom mathematics teacher.  He later began his work as a main frame programmer and was subsequently promoted to analyst and later to Director of Data Processing. In January 2000, Mr. Parker was promoted to Administrative Assistant for Information Technology.
