After spending more than 30 years as an educator in North Carolina and Tennesse, Dr. Gentry  says coming to Virginia and being allowed to work at Kentuck Elementary School is my best move ever. He  appreciates the support the parents and community have given him. 

Dr. Gentry describes staff at Kentuck as second to none. "Our staff is totally committed to our student's successes".  Pittsylvania County School System has excellent leadership in all its schools and from the school board office...."it really is a great place to live and work".  

Dr. Gentry frequently reminds all students, staff, and himself, that everyone should all be treated with diginity and respect.  Kentuck goals are to develop the children's academic skills and their character development.  

Dr. Gentry's favorite quote, and a statement that motivates him professionally, comes from the late Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. which is: "Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true education".

Dr. Gentry is married and has three children. He is a member and elder of Speedwell Presbyterian Church in Reidsville.
