On Friday, June 1, 2007, our principal ran to school! 

Dr. Robert Gentry, principal of Kentuck Elementary School ran from Pelham, North Carolina to Kentuck Elementary in support of the local Relay for Life.  Dr. Gentry left Pelham at 3:45 AM and arrived at Kentuck at 8:15 AM.  He ran for 20 miles!!  When he was about a mile from the school he was given a Relay for Life T-Shirt that had several names of cancer survivors and cancer victims. 

Along with his run, the students participated in a Relay for Life Penny Drive that raised 1,815.27 that will all go towards the American Cancer Society.
