CTE COURSES FOR GRADES 7 AND 8

Exploratory CTE courses are offered to all Pittsylvania County students in grades 7 and 8. Exploratory vocational courses are offered in four program areas: agriculture, business (8th grade only), technology, and work and family studies. In the 7th grade, students rotate through exploratory areas, spending six weeks in each area. In the 8th grade, students have an opportunity to select which program area(s) they would like to further investigate. The exploratory programs help students develop a knowledge and experience basis from which to choose a career pathway in high school.
