Kuder Career Assessment
Students enrolled in or preparing to enroll in career and technical education programs in Pittsylvania County Schools participate in a variety of assessment activities identifying career interests and aptitudes. Assessment activities begin in seventh grade exploratory classes and continue through the twelfth grade. The Differential Aptitude Test (DAT) and Career Interest Inventory are given to eighth graders to identify particular career interests, as well as identify individual aptitudes or abilities in relation to occupations. Interest inventories and aptitude assessments given to middle school students provide valuable data along with regular achievement testing results as students work with their parents and counselors in selecting a career pathway.
