![]() |
| In February, students at John L. Hurt, Jr. Elementary School went “Digging For the Truth.” Famous African Americans were researched and discussed. The second grade students learned about African Americans from the past such as Nat Turner, Booker T. Washington, and George Washington Carver. Some students researched present day African Americans such as President and Mrs. Obama, Michael Jackson, and Mae Jemison. Students enjoyed “Digging For the Truth.” Pictured are students in Mrs. Cynthia Bryant’s, Mrs. Penny Mason’s, and Mrs. Connie Parker’s classrooms. They include Jaleel Lovelace, Ethan Turk, Jacob Welch, Maliah Walker, Ashtyn Dudley, and Trinity Tyson. |
