Llama Visits Gretna Elementary |

Gretna Elementary School Pre-K students were
treated to a visit by the Gretna High School teacher cadets for the
celebration of Read for the Record on Thursday, October 6. The high school
teacher cadets, under the supervision of Mrs. Serena Jones, prepared
lesson activities to correlate with the story, Llama, Llama, Red Pajama.
Pre-K students heard the story in Spanish and English. All students were
given a red tee shirt to be dressed like the llama in red pajamas. The book Llama, Llama, Red Pajama was given to all the students to carry home so that parents might also have a chance to read to their child the story about the llama. The highlight of the day was when Mr. and Mrs. Bill Foster brought a real llama from their farm for the students to see. This Read for the Record event stressed that reading is essential for student success. |
