Meteorologist Jay Webb Visits Southside Elementary

The second graders at Southside Elementary School welcomed Jay Webb, meteorologist for WDBJ 7, on February 3, 2011. He provided a conclusion to their month long study of weather. Mr. Webb explained the various tools a meteorologist uses to forecast the weather. He demonstrated the High and Low pressure systems and the water cycle. The students were fascinated with the tornado tube. Finally, the second graders were amazed when meteorologist Jay Webb concluded his presentation by making snow.
