Davenport Energy Presents ExxonMobil
Grants: |
|
Gretna Middle School, Southside Elementary School and
Stony Mill Elementary School have each received a $500 grant from the ExxonMobil Educational Alliance. Davenport Energy worked with school officials to secure the grants, which were funded by the ExxonMobil Corporation. A total of 4,000 grants were available this year across the country. Davenport Energy distributed grants totaling $4,500.00. "All area schools work hard to make learning interesting and fun" said Bruce Gilbert, Davenport Energy Director of Operations for Customer Service/Training, "and as an Exxon Distributor we are proud to help young people in the community."
The ExxonMobil Educational Alliance Program is designed to provide Exxon and Mobil distributors and retailers an opportunity to invest in the future of their communities through educational grants to neighborhood schools.
Davenport Energy has offices in Chatham, Martinsville, South Boston, Rocky Mount, Bedford, Lynchburg and Brookneal/Naruna. |

Community Foundation of the Dan River Region:
Keokee Fund (Deadline 5/23/11)
The Community
Foundation of the Dan River Region is a public charity established in
September 1996 by a steering committee of civic leaders to meet a
variety of social, educational, cultural and other charitable needs in
the Dan River Region. Keokee Fund proposals are to support the
education of academically gifted students in The Community Foundation’s

The
Air Force Association (AFA) is offering two
grant opportunities.
-
The Chapter Matching Grant
program allows the local chapter, Chapter 240 - Danville, to work with
local educators to develop and promote new educational activities and
events in math and science, particularly those related to air and
space. The maximum grant per chapter, per year is $1,000.
Applications for this grant will be taken throughout the school year.
Please contact Tracey Worley, Budget Supervisor/Grants Coordinator, at
the Central Office for a copy of the application.
